TRAD Group Proudly Supports Workers' Memorial Day 2018

For the second year running we are are proudly supporting this worthy cause – across the country TRAD Scaffolding, TRAD Hire & Sales and TRAD Safety Systems office staff and operatives visited construction sites throughout there UK to show a united front in recognizing fallen workers.

Workers’ Memorial Day – Saturday 28th April 2018

Workers’ Memorial Day is an international day of remembrance and action for workers killed, disa

bled, injured or made unwell at their work.

The purpose behind Workers’ Memorial Day has always been to “remember the dead, fight for the living” and employers and employees alike are asked to focus on both areas, to not only remember all those killed through work but also take action to ensure that such tragedies are not repeated.

This years theme for the day is ‘Unionised Workplaces are Safer Workplaces’ and will focus the huge difference that unions make in preventing deaths in the workplace!

We have purchased worker Memorial Day High Vis for TRAD Group operatives and Ribbons for staff unable to attend on-site events with team participation photographed and promoted to raise awareness of the Workers’ Memorial Day.

The profit from the sale of Purple Ribbons goes to support the work of FACK – Families Against Corporate Killers, which supports families of those killed by work while profits made from the sale of High Vis jackets and the Car Stickers goes to support Greater Manchester Hazards Centre and the Hazards Campaign; not for profit organisations that have no secure or guaranteed funding but provide information, advice, training, an annual Hazards Conference and campaign for improvement in all aspects of workers’ health and safety, in support of the WMD initiative over the last 30 years.
