“Visual Standards” is an initiative to ensure that we operate with the highest possible standards of safety.
It is a visual guide with pictorial examples taken from best practice on our own sites and using our own equipment. It is clear and accessible, designed to ensure that everyone, including Estimators, Contracts Staff, Contracts Supervisors, Scaffolders and Labourers, can visualise best practice and put it into place on all of our projects.
GOING BEYOND
Scaffolders are exposed to significant hazards and risks every day. In response, our trade body, NASC, produced Safety Guidance SG4 in 1996. It became the industry standard for work at height and, since then, there has been a 78% reduction* in falls from height among NASC members.
While SG4 saved lives, it has not eliminated falls, so TRAD Scaffolding elected to “go beyond”. To provide the safest working environment for all our scaffolders, we now follow Safezone Plus – an internal safety standard owned by the ALTRAD Group. It includes additional safeguards such as the installation of advanced double guardrails on ALL scaffolds, including non-working lifts.
